Barbara Ellen Beachum Kanipe

Keith and I had 2 grandchildren. Dezarae was born in 1981 and Bruce was born in 1985. Our house is filled with photos of all our wonderful times with them. We had parties for every birthday and holiday. When I taught orchestra I took my students at the end of the year to Astroworld on chartered busses, and our whole family would go and spend the day together. I taught for 36 years before I retired in 2000. Our family still celebrates every birthday and holiday together. Keith and I celebrated our 64th anniversary April 11, 2023.

On page 170 of our 1959 Anchor Jon Bartnick and Sidney Beauford are laughing with me as we visualize costumes for our Senior Play. I dropped out later because Keith and I decided to elope that weekend to enjoy the Lantana parade and formal dance. I had been the Lantana Duchess from Carroll the year before. It must not have been a bad idea, as we still enjoy every day together. He had taken me to the dance the year we met in December, 1957. He was a freshman at A&I, and I was at Ray High ready to open Carroll High School the next year.
